Excursion to Cíes Islands
We suggest a full-day trip to the Cíes Islands, which are part of the Atlantic Islands Nature Park.

Naviera Mar de Ons. Port of Vigo or Cangas del Morrazo.
Access to the islands is limited to a certain number of people; it is therefore advisable to book in advance, especially in summer. If you’re driving, the only option is to park in the A Laxe shopping centre (near the port) due to limited parking in the area.
Another option is departing from Cangas del Morrazo, where there is free parking in the port area.

If you have enough time
Fishing district of Berbés / Market of A Pedra.
If you choose to depart from Vigo, and you have enough time, you are recommended to enjoy fresh oysters in the market of A Pedra. Go for a walk around the fishing district of Berbés.

Curious
The sea in the Atlantic Islands Nature Park. Cies Islands.
It doesn’t look like the Atlantic or the generalized idea we have of the Galician coastline. Fine white sand and crystal-blue waters with an absolutely evocative turquoise colour. You’ll think you’re in the Caribbean.

Essential
Rodas beach.
“The Guardian” newspaper described it as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Sometimes the most beautiful is closer than you think.

Recommended
Nuestra Señora beach.
If you want to be a bit more secluded, this is a beautiful cove for enjoying peace and quiet.

Feel
Trekking routes on the Cíes islands.
The island’s colours, aromas and landscapes in the panoramic views along the different trekking routes: Alto del Prínciple, Monte Faro, Monte Agudo and A Port Lighthouse will give you a much better idea of the island’s layout. The contrasts between the east and west coasts: one rugged, with cliffs rising to a height of 100 metres, the other featuring calm, crystal-clear waters. Excellent panoramic views of the entire nature park. Average round-trip duration of 2 hours (check each route). Wear comfortable shoes.
Taste
Restaurants in the Cies Islands
There are only 3 restaurants on the Cíes islands and they are all easy to find. They sell sandwiches and portions. They are there to feed the island’s visitors. The best thing is to take a picnic and eat in the shade of a good tree. Note that there are no wastepaper baskets on the island, except for the jetty.
